A lot.
Like, up to two feet.
And mostly between 8a.m. and 6p.m. tomorrow.
Our flight is at 1:30.
I wasn't too worried about it until Marky sent me a link to a post titled: Snow Update: 10 to 20 Inches, 'Thundersnow' Now Possible.
And the immediate, inappropriate, random reply that came to mind was, "No, fuck you Dad!"*
But then I read this from the DCist:
The heaviest snowfall is expected between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Saturday, and
now, just to add a little more danger into the mix, the Capital Weather Gang is
also warning residents to keep an eye out for 'thundersnow.'
That's a real thing, apparently. Where it's snowing and also thundering at the
same time. We can only assume it's then followed by the literal hand of God
reaching down from the sky to punish us for our wicked, wicked ways.
And now all I can think about are Thundercats.
*If you're like Mark, that comment was very confusing and slightly offensive. I know. I have no explanation for why it pops into my head when it does. All I can say is that sometimes, it just feels right - like the only saying that can wrap up my thoughts and feelings in a nice little package. Oh, and it's from the Breakfast Club.

Dont know if this affects you but
"Delta cancels all Saturday flights in and out of DC airports. Other airlines trimming east coast flights"
Saw it on twitter.
Here is the actual tweet Anon was talking about, from some newsy person. http://twitter.com/LisaStark/status/6808966872
Hey Snow,
GFY!
- Erin
p.s. - We're on US, so ... still hope?
Hey - get used to it. It's a perk!
Everytime I travel back to WDC in the winter I end up sight-seeing at least one day because the weather simply threatens snow, thus shutting down whatever gov't office I had an appointment at....
'course, give the way folks drive back there, especially on the Parkway from Baltimore, that's probably a good thing...
Aw, I like thundersnow when it happens! As long as I'm not traveling, that is. Because, YIKES. Crossing my fingers for you guys right now! I hope your flight plans work out. ::hugs::
Nick, it's not really a perk when it's your hometown that you're trying to leave. But whatever, I'm guessing we won't leave today. Thankfully it looks like the weather is clearing up for Sunday.
Our biggest problem is we ran out of coffee filters.
Erin -
Sorry...that's true. Hope you get out today....
Me too! We've been trying to book a cab for about 30 minutes now - can't get through. The fun continues!!
