Gratitude

One of the best parts of getting a job has been writing a ton of thank you notes to all the people that have helped me out over the past year.

References, recruiters, HR folks, PR professionals - they were all so generous with their time, contacts and wisdom.

While job searching wasn't fun (by any means), it was great to see how willing people were to help me along the way.

It was also a great learning experience/reminder that if you just ask, people will do what they can for you.
